The Winter months are traditionally Cyclocross season and this December Iceni Velo put on two successful events as part of the Elmy Cycles Eastern Cyclo-Cross League. Both races featured Iceni members old and new, and even some very young members in the under 12s race!
The first event was the always well received Broome Heath Scramble held on the 16th and organised by Shaun Aldous. This was held on a lovely sunny Winter’s day and attracted riders from all over the region. The entire thing went off without a hitch and the club received lots of positive feedback from the cakes to the marshals words of encouragement for all the riders on the course.
We won’t go into full results here but riders from the club did very well in all the races and full results and more photos from the day can be seen in the race report here.
The latest event was the all new Chris Cross at World Horse Welfare at Snetterton held on the 30th of December and organised by Sara Flatt. Designed to fill a gap in the Cyclocross calendar this ended up being one of the windiest days of the month leading to lots (and lots) of tape issues! Despite being the first time the event had been held it seems to have gone down very well with all involved, especially the use of the indoor arena featuring some banging tunes playing over the PA system as riders came through.
Again, rather than go into the full results a race report can be seen here.
