Based in Norwich and founded in 2011 with lots of ideas and enthusiasm for our sport. We promote all aspects of cycling, both competitive as well as for pleasure, fitness and transportation.
Our current members take part in a range of cycling including Mountain Biking, Gravel riding, Club Runs, Sportive, Cyclocross, Road Racing, Time Trials, Triathlons and even Ironman Events.
Founded by a fifty plus strong group of cyclists, both male, female, young and old that shared a mutual passion for all things cycling, Iceni Velo evolved from what was Street life Cycles/ Extreme Sports Therapy group. Our unofficial group became so popular that we became a official British Cycling affiliated club.

James enjoys the mental challenge of longer rides and is generally seen tucking into Beans on Toast at the cafe stop, for which he is a self appointed connoisseur.
Will started riding bikes at a young age with his Dad on Suffolk roads. He soon moved on to bigger challenges such as riding down the West Coast of the USA, and across Korea to the infamous border. He now enjoys a day out with the club on Norfolk roads, with a decent pint to finish!
Rob joined Iceni Velo in September 2025 and took on the role of Welfare Officer in June 2026.
A relative latecomer to cycling, he quickly discovered that being on two wheels offers much more than just physical exercise. For him, cycling is as much about mental health and wellbeing as it is about fitness – the chance to clear your head, enjoy the outdoors and spend time riding with good company. It’s something he’s become passionate about and a big part of what attracted him to the Welfare Officer role.
Although not originally from Norfolk, he has called the county home for nearly ten years. Away from cycling, he is a lifelong Arsenal supporter, while also having a soft spot for his adopted local team, Norwich City – although exactly where his loyalties lie should the two meet is probably best left unanswered!
John has dabbled in many cycling disciplines, and has enjoyed many years of racing cyclocross, road and time trials with Iceni Velo. More recently he moved onto longer distance audax riding with generous time allowances, including London-Edinburgh-London, London-Wales-London and Ben Allen's Summer Outing.
Colin joined Iceni Velo in 2012 after, like many, falling in love again with cycling during London 2012. Cycling in Tenerife and around Kielder Forest (Northumberland) has presented him with his biggest challenges and most FUN! Colin now spends most of his “ride time” off-road. His first bike was a Grifter.
Michael joined Iceni Vélo in 2019 and is a late comer to club riding - better late than never. He always enjoys the Sunday Club Run with the important, obligatory cafe stop and really appreciates the health and fitness benefits that come with regular riding.
David joined Iceni in 2012. Over the years he has tried most types of cycling and finds enjoyment access the disciplines. His real passion is for cyclocross and enjoys hosting the Iceni cyclocross race every winter.
He is experienced in youth racing on road and off road, and loves supporting new riders - both adults and young people - to give racing a go.
